Kurseong is a picturesque hill station located in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal, India, nestled away at an altitude of 1458 meters (4864 ft), only 30 km from Darjeeling. Known for its pleasant climate year-round and milder winters in comparison to Darjeeling, Kurseong is also fondly referred to by its local name "Kharsang" which in the Lepcha language means "Land of White Orchids".
Kurseong is a town located approximately 47 kilometers from Siliguri, in the Indian state of West Bengal. The town is accessible by road and rail, with the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway connecting it to Siliguri. The nearest airport is at Bagdogra, while the nearest major railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), about 53 kilometers away. Kurseong is largely built around schools and tourism, with the best time to visit being between March and May, or between the end of August and October.
